Can I Change PCAs?

February 3, 2023

At Best Care, we believe that everyone deserves the best care that aligns with their wants and needs. That could change over time, meaning you could need to change caregivers.

If you’ve been working with a caregiver for a while, it might seem difficult to change your current situation. However, there’s no reason for it to be any more stressful than it needs to be. So here’s a guide to changing caregivers to help you get started.

There could be any number of reasons to change your Personal Care Assistant (PCA). For example, perhaps your needs have changed, and you require a different level of care that your current caregiver cannot provide, or you want to try someone new.

The relationship between a caregiver and the recipient of care is highly personal, so if you feel that something’s wrong, you’re well within your rights to make a change.

How to hire a PCA in Minnesota

At Best Care, we make it as easy as possible to get started with a PCA that fits your needs and has the qualifications you seek.

We have created an online self-assessment tool for those interested in PCA services. While you won’t be able to use this assessment as an official means of obtaining home care services, it will give you a good idea of how many hours of home care you may qualify for.

We have also created a free eBook, Managing Self-Direction, to empower people with the tools and resources for managing their PCAs. Download the eBook to read or share with loved ones.

We want our clients to be in control of their own care, and that means having quick access to everything they need, from FAQs to mandatory forms. To that end, Best Care has invested in technology solutions to increase convenience and simplify paperwork.

We are also available by phone or email, so feel free to contact us if you have any questions or need assistance.

Support When You Need It
