App will ensure safer and consistent care during COVID-19 crisis
ST. PAUL, Minn. (April 8, 2020): Leading home care service provider, Best Care offers its innovative “Best Care Timesheet” app for free to all agency-affiliated personal care assistants (PCAs) across the state, regardless of where they work. Recognizing the urgent need to support Minnesota PCAs during the unprecedented COVID-19 crisis, the “Best Care Timesheet” app allows PCAs to track their hours in a streamlined, convenient, safe way while minimizing general exposure. Across the state, Minnesota PCAs now have free access to the app via their IOS or Android devices. The new tool eliminates barriers such as having to submit paper documentation via fax machine or through in-person office visits and offers employers a seamless way to ensure prompt and accurate payment to their care provider staff.
“PCAs are central to ensuring people with disabilities, and others needing at home care services, maintain their quality of life during this extraordinary health emergency sweeping our country,” said Best Care founder and app developer Andre Best. “For many, retaining their PCA provider is truly a matter of life and death. We quickly recognized how useful our “Best Care Timesheet” app would be at this critical time. We don’t want home care workers going to public places to submit their timesheets which may increase the likelihood of exposure to COVID-19 and raise the risk of infecting the vulnerable people in their care. In the interest of ensuring consistent care to all who are served by our Minnesota PCA community, we are pleased to freely share this important tool to all who need it.”
Best Care has used its proprietary “Best Care Timesheet” app since its development in 2015. Andre Best developed the app to offer a reliable, easy to use method of documenting and submitting employee timesheets. The app is widely used within the agency and has proven to be a valued asset. More than 44,000 Minnesotans receive PCA services. In 2018, over 200,000 direct support workers – many of whom are PCAs – served this population. The free app will be available to all PCAs working for any care provider organization across the state.
About Best Care: An advocate for clients and family caregivers, Best Care founder Andre Best, an attorney and former union president, established Best Care Minnesota in 2005 with his father and wife. Back then, their mission was simple: provide resources for individuals to find the home care services they needed and offer reputable administrative services to caregivers in the Twin Cities. Today, Best Care continues that same mission and works to become Minnesota’s #1 choice for family caregivers and those in need of quality home care services. https://bestcaremn.com/best-care-timesheet-app/
