The MHCA began as a council of the Minnesota League for Nursing and in 1970; it was organized as the Assembly of Home Health Nursing Agencies and consisted of only 15 provider members. The Assembly continued to add more Minnesota home care agencies to its roster and in 1989, the council reorganized and incorporated as the Minnesota HomeCare Association. Today, the MHCA represents over 160 home care provider agencies and business partner members throughout the state of Minnesota.
