This February, we're celebrating National Senior Independence Month! We invite everyone who looks after a senior to join us in spreading awareness about the benefits of home care services. Learn how to get involved to make this a wonderful month for loved ones.
What is National Senior Independence Month?
National Senior Independence Month is a celebration of all the ways seniors can enjoy their independence. It’s also a great opportunity to learn more about new ways that you can empower them to maintain that independence over their twilight years.
How can home care services help with senior independence?
Some seniors can be resistant to accepting any kind of care. But sometimes, it’s a genuine need. Care may depend on mobility issues, cognitive impairment, or just extra help around the house.
Home care services allow seniors to stay in their own home, in control of the familiar surroundings. They can often receive care from someone they already know and trust, such as a family member. This can make that getting the support they need that much easier.
Enabling seniors to maintain their independence, while still staying safe, happy, and healthy, is the reason why so many of our caregivers choose Best Care to look after their elderly loved ones.
How to take part in Senior Independence Month 2022
This Senior Independence Month, we want to do our part to enable seniors to maintain their independence. Age or illness shouldn’t take away from a person’s ability to choose how to live their life in dignity and with respect.
That’s why we champion caregivers to get paid for the work they do. That way people can take care of their loved ones in the way that fits them best. This means without worrying about finding other work to pay the bills. Find out more about this option.
We’re particularly proud to offer our Timesheet App, so you can provide personalized home care without worrying about extra paperwork. Find out more about the app, right here.
We also know that COVID-19 has presented many new challenges over the last few years, so we’ve put together a range of resources designed to support you, so you can offer the best possible care to your parents or senior loved ones during these difficult times.
